Cinnabuns

Origin: Sweden Original name: Kanellbulle (meaning literally cinnamon bun)

  • You can smell it from across the room, that sweet, tangy, intoxicating smell of a sweet pastry rolled into a swirl with butter, sugar an cinnamon. Its gooey, its yeasty, its soft and melts in your mouth and you lick your fingers to leave no trace of the frosting that was left. It is no doubt, a true delight, but no friend of the diet (but then again, what really good cookies or pastry are?)

Cinnabuns (or cinnamon rolls) are sweet pastry served commonly in Northern Europe and North America. They're made out of a rolled sheet of sweet yeast dough, to which you add a butter cinnamon and sugar mix. When rolled, portioned and baked as individual portions, they look like swirls They are often topped with icing glaze or sugar.
