Today isnt exactly Sunday, but its a holiday so it might as well be!
I was craving something savory, someone in he room said somethng cheesy, and I realized Ive been wanting to try a savory version of cinnamon rolls so I went for it! These actually use a dough that you could definitely use for a cinnamon rolls too. I know this because I did, I used half of the dough to make bite size syrup glazed cinnamon rolls.. the recipe will be up soon enough for your enjoyment, but for now, go with the cheese.... the cheese is good!!!
Cheese swirls recipes
Ingredients:
-1 and 1/2 cup of flour
-2 tsps diced cold butter
-1/2 cup of lukewarm milk
-1 egg
-1 tsp sugar
-1 tsp salt
-2 tsp instant yeast
For the filling:
-6 tsps olive oil
-1 tsp thyme
-1 tsp oregano
-4 tsp parmesan cheese
-Crushed sea salt
-Black pepper
Instructions:
-Mix all ingredients and bring together to form a dough
-Knead for about 5 minutes until you have a really soft dough
-Let dough rest for about 40 minutes or until doubled the size
-Punch down and roll out to a rectangular form
-Mix all ingredients for the filling and spread evenly on top the dough
-Roll to for a log and cut to desired thickness
-Let rest for 10-20 minutes in a warm surface while you preheat oven to 190C
-Cook for about 10-15 minutes
